Jeeran and Performancing: Helping Arab Bloggers Succeed

Jeeran has teamed up with Performancing - www.performancing.com - to bring Arabic version of the widely popular blog editor - Performancing for Firefox.

If you're a blogger and are not familiar with Performancing then you should get out more :)  Performancing is a group of professional bloggers with a mission "To create a home for professional bloggers. As a result of this partnership, Jeeran's bloggers can upgrade their blogging experience through the power of Performancing and the "open-mindedness" of our blogging engine, which enables integration with any external blogging applocation through an open API -http://api.jeeran.com/blogs/rpc/- wich adopts the universal MetaweblogAPI standards.

I encourgae you to download and use this great application. You will find that you wont be able to live without it :)

The tables do turn

When I think of what is happening in Lebanon, Palestine, and of all that's been happening for the last 100 years, of what the Arab and Muslim world has suffered at the hands of Israel, the U.S., the Western world in general, and even its own corrupt leaders, I wonder what will happen "when" the tables do turn in the end.

History always repeats itself, and we have way too many lessons to learn from. Take Al-Andalus for example -Spain udder Muslim rule- Muslims ruled Spain for 800 years, that's 3.5 times the existence of the U.S. and 16 times the existence of Israel. Now nobody seems to remember the Spain was once a Muslim nation. Except for a few ancient buildings that still bear "westernized" Arabic names, it is as if we were never there.

800 years... that's almost half the time since Jesus.

Looking at those numbers, I am shocked at the arrogance in which those two countries behave- As if we are living the final stretch of existence. Looking at those numbers, the U.S. and Israel seem so insignificant, two temporary jagged drawings on the world map that will likely change.

I wonder, when the tables turn, and the balance of power is tipped in favor of those who were once weak, will the once-weak oppress the once-strong as was done to them? Will they massacre and butcher them as they were? I personally hope not.

I wonder, does this question ever cross the minds of the oppressors?

The stupidest guys in the room

Ehud Olmert and George Bush are by far the stupidest men to ever lead Israel and America. Why? simple:

  1. Invading one of the only democracies in the region is very stupid. It shows that nobody is safe while Israel remains loose.

  2. The invasion has brought all the Lebanese people together in support of Hezbollah. For the first time we heard all Lebanese leaders make statements in support of Hezbollah.

  3. The Israeli invasion has established Hezbollah as the legitimate Lebanese resistance force.

  4. Starting an all out war to liberate Lebanon is what Hezbollah always wanted, and they just gave it to them on a golden platter.

  5. Failing to crush Hezbollah so far dismisses the myth surrounding the Israeli army, and encourages other Arab countries and leaders to speak out -as we've seen happen.

  6. The United States abandoned its role as a mediator, officially taking sides with Israel for the first time by bargaining and putting its own conditions to end this invasion. This has revealed America's real face to the Arab world. This is a wakeup call for everyone who was still asleep.

The way I see it, Israel and the U.S. will get only one chance to get rid of Hezbollah, and it seems those two idiots already blew it.

Past Israeli leaders have always committed atrocities under the cover and support of American leaders, but they were smart about it. The American people hate Boy George's stupidity, while I love it because it is doing him and Israel more harm :)

Help Lebanon

مدونون لأجل لبنانWhile we can’t fight alongside them for many reasons, this does not mean we should sit and not do anything. BloggersForLebanon.org is an effort by a group of online communities aimed at rallying support across the Arab web for the Lebanese people. The primary objective is to collect in-kind donations which will go to the Jordan River Foundation and from there to the Lebanese people.

Please donate if you can. If you can’t you can still give by helping promote this effort.

Not too long  ago in Lebanon, Israel was made to withdraw by force. This is a testimony that "What was taken by force can only be taken back by force", and a testimony to the ability of the Lebanese resistance in driving them out again.

Let us hope we can help ease their suffering and prolong their endurance until they achieve victory over the Zionist state.

Thank you.
